STEPS
TOOLS
STEP I: Understand that you will have trials, and yet also brilliant moments throughout your life.
Firstly, in order to realize this, you should think on the fact that we — like the earth around us — are in constant fluctuation, which gives us the ability to fall, but also the ability to rise.
Furthermore, if you are ever sad, remember to be open to moving past it. Do not agree to a loop of dispiritedness.
“The worst thing in the world can happen, but the next day the sun will come up. And you will eat your toast. And drink your tea.” — Rhian Ellis
STEP II: Take time through the day.
Secondly, always take time throughout the day to breathe, or simply to take it all in. Perhaps you are living a lovely moment — take the time to recall it.
In relation to that, you should always imprint sunrises and sunsets into your memory. They are a marvel of nature; as are you. Be grateful for them.
STEP III: Look at your goals.
This third step allows for you to think on a bright future. You have the capability to have one. Ask yourself right now: Are you where you want to be?
If yes, then live this part of your life brilliantly; wonderfully.
If not, then set objectives and take the steps to meet them. Your goals are possible if you plan.
“The most important decision you will ever make is to be in a good mood.” — Voltaire
STEP IV: Make connections.
You have the opportunity to connect with people everyday. To sustain a good conversation; to have a good laugh; to admire art. Seize these opportunities.
Moreover, connect with the world in a very real, 3D way. Take a break from social media and step into the cool, fresh air outside, and also the world that goes along with it.
As well, do not falsify connections. Yet still be kind. Have deep, interesting relationships with people. Do not be afraid to fall in love, whether it be agape, or Eros, or storge.
STEP V: Recognize what makes you smile.
Is it the taste of food?
Is it the possibility travel provides?
Or is it perhaps the brilliance of knowledge, something you may always continue to gain?
Either which way, this step is the most integral to you. It will help guide your positive mindset throughout the rest of your life.
To end, I shall share some of my favourite tools: Journaling. Exercise. Laughing. The positive words of all those who have come before us. Writing. Tea. Best friends. And the warmth of sunlight.
