Put all the dry ingredients in a food processor.. Add the butter. Pulse until u get a sandy mix. The add the liquids while the machine is running

The dough is soft and slightly sticky.  Dust your surface gather the dough.

Put it on a floured surface spread by hand add the dried fruits and 1 Tsp of salt fold in the dough to incorporate them.  The light in this picture make the dough looks white\ud83d\ude00

Divide into 2. I am putting one part in the freezer.  The second will make me around 20 scones

I used a cutter 4.5 cm. and I got almost 40 scones. Enough for a big tea party or a brunch

Spread the dough with a rolling pin. 2 cm thickness or so and cut circles.. Either with a cutter or with a cup?? Baste with an egg yolk wash. Bake 30-35 min in a 170C preheated oven

Serve immediately. They are fantastic hot, warm or cold

  • 500.0g Flour
  • 100.0g Sugar
  • 2.0tsp Baking powder
  • 1.0tsp Cinnamon & other spices
  • 1.0tsp Salt
  • 75.0ml Milk
  • 175.0g Thick Fresh cream
  • 1.0 Egg yolk
  • 100.0g Dried fruits
  • 1.0 Egg yolk for glazing
  • Oven 170C/30 mins
  • This recipe makes 30-40scones
