INGREDIENTS

Step1: Cream together Crisco and sugar.

Step 2: Add two eggs, and mashed bananas to mixture.

Step 3: In another bowl combine flour, salt, and baking soda.

Step 4: Make sour milk by adding lemon juice to the milk.

Step 5: Combine dry mixture with wet mixture, alternating with sour milk.

Step 6: Chop walnuts, then fold into batter mixture.

Step7: Spray pans with Pam (No stick cooking spray) OR grease and flour.

Step8: Divide mixture in half in the baking pans.

Step 9: Place in oven on rack below the center of the oven. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes. Hint: Check at 40 minutes just in case.

Step 10: Check with toothpick, if it is clean the banana bread is done! You can eat it plain or spread with cream cheese OR butter. Eat and enjoy!

  • 1/2c Crisco Shortening
  • 1.0c Sugar
  • 2.0 Eggs
  • 1/2c Mashed Bananas (can be 2 cups)
  • 2.0c Flour
  • 1/2tsp Salt
  • 1.0tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2c Sour Milk (Milk with 2/tsp lemon juice)
  • 3/4c Chopped Nuts (Optional)
  • 1/2tsp Lemon Rind (Optional)
