How to bake a simple apple pie

This is a really simple version. It's quick and easy to follow. No hassles on measuring out the dough or cutting edges!

My friends and family love this recipe. Am asked to bake this always. Usually apple pie calls for making dough that needs to be measured and cut out. I haven't tried the traditional pie but will.

So this doesn't need butter except for greasing. It's fun to make! Hope you enjoy this :)

Break the eggs into the bowl and whisk them in. You can use cake mixer if you want. I prefer by hand as you will see why.

Add the powdered sugar to the whisked eggs.

Should come out creamy and thicker than beaten eggs consistency.

Add in the vanilla essence or extract. That's the brown spot there.

Add in shifted flour. I have shifted along with it baking powder, salt and half a tbsp of cinnamon.

Mix till all the ingredients are well combined. It becomes a really soft dough. At this point you can chuck the whisk and knead with your hand

The dough feels soft and bit oily. If its oily its actually better as your apple pie will turn out softer. It you find that the dough feels sticky you can add in bit more oil.

You can refrigerate it till we handle the apples. You can skip this step if you want.

Peel that delicious looking apple. You can add in another apple if you want. For this amount one apple is sufficient.

You can cut the apple however you like. Smaller or larger chunks. You could also cut them thin and layer them in circles in the pan.

Today I grated them as it releases for juice and makes the pie more softer.

Add in a tablespoon of cinnamon or lesser to the grated apples.

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius for maybe five minutes.

Time to grease the pan. Apply butter to the pan generously. Even if you forgot to take the butter out and it's cold it's alright. It melts as you spread because of the heat from the fingers.

Add in flour and dust it around the pan. Don't rub it in! Just. Swirl the pan. You can seriously skip this if you have parchment paper. I don't prefer cooking spray! They have harmful substances.

Divide the dough into two parts. Can be equal or the dough for the base can be thicker. Apply oil on your hands when handling the dough. Can get sticky.

Now sprinkle in the apple mixture and put the other dough on the top like this.

Level it out. This part is tricky. Since its not a watery batter it won't flow. You need to struggle a bit and u may even think that the dough seems less but trust me it will be alright.

Bake it in the oven for 30 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius.

Had made another batch and this is how they turned out. I used a knife to criss cross on the surface before I baked on.
