Here is the mermaid piece I am altering. Her hand is broken and she really is quite plain, but still beautiful

The first thing I did was brush her tail with Rhodolite. I LOVE the color effect with the blue color that was originally on the mermaid.

Now grab your Sorbet in Coral and brush it onto the coral part of the piece randomly.

Make sure you get the front and back. Smoosh it into all the tiny crevices

Ok now grab your Velvet in Tango, and paint wherever you didn't previously paint with the coral color. Go between the two colors until you have a nice variation.

Here is the base. I first brushed on a heavy layer of Stone Elements in Bone then dried it with my heat gun. Then I grabbed my Colorations Spary in warm and misted heavily.

I wasnt worried about getting it on the coral colors because it was helping blend the two together. After the Warm dries, mist with Salted Caramel, again for variation in color. Dry with your heat gun

I dumped out my shells and picked the ones I wanted to use. I also had a bag of buttons and picked from that as well. These I glued onto the base with my hot glue gun.

I then misted more with the Colorations in Warm, and Salted Caramel. See how its filling in the holes in the coral as well...Creating depth and dimension. Super easy and super cool effect.

Here is a close up of the scales on her tail. I rubbed it with some Champagne Ice Metallic Lustre. It helped to give some more dimension to the scales, and its shiney, I love shiney.

For her hair, again I misted with the Warm first, then Salted Caramel. Don't worry about the heavier spots, we will be misting more and it will all blend together.

The wings I did in Vegas Gold. I brushed it all over both sides. Heavier in some spots so the light would catch them differently. I dried with my heat gun and applied a second coat.

I brushed her body with the Dazzle. Those little dots you see are sparkles. Plus the color of the dazzle also gave her an aged look. I then misted with Salted Caramel then wiped it off after it dried.

Next I applied a very light coat of Pixie to her body and arms. This mixed with the Salted Caramel and gave her just such a cool color on her body. You can barely see the blue, but it's there.

I got out my Prima Pearls and applied them to her body. I love that they are sticky so they laid right on her nicely. I only had to cut a couple of pieces away for it to fit around her waist.

I glued a larger shell where her hand is missing. I am not a sculpter so I had limited options. I like how it worked out though. Sometimes you just have to make it work with what you have :)

I misted her tail and the pearls with Salted Caramel. I wanted some blue. I grabbed my Fiji and while the Mist was still wet, brushed it lightly over the pearls...LOVEEE how this turned out.

I misted the seashells on her breasts with Salted Caramel and brushed with Fiji also. I wiped away any excess misting on her body with a towel. I layered the colors until it was how I wanted it

The coral was a bit brighter than I wanted, so I grabbed my Salted Caramel again and misted the coral. I also added more to her hair. I was going for an aged affect and it worked great.

Her head piece is from an old earring I had. It fit perfectly on top of her head. I glued this on with E6000 Jewelry glue. It dries much faster than regular E 6000 so you dont have to hold it forever.

The last thing I did was mist her wings again with Salted Caramel. I let it settle into all of the different crevices then dried it with my heat gun

Here she is completed. I draped an old necklace around the coral and her tail. She has all of her bobbles and bits she has collected. She is the Angel of the Sea.
