How to acquire and care for a pet rock

Start with your rock. You can get them almost anywhere! E.g Backyards, beaches, etc.

Get your string or paint, I'm using string.

For paints, paint the whole rock and skip to step 9. For string, start by taping or gluing one end of the string to the rock

Keep wrapping the string around your rock

When you string as much as you want, cut the string with some left over

Tape or glue the leftover string to the bottom of the rock. Add an accessory if you like

If you only used one color of string, go to step 9. But if you use more than one string repeat steps 3 and 6 except in the new color

Repeat again if you want another color and so on

Add goggly eyes. Mine stick, but if yours don't, glue them on

Draw or paint a mouth

I gave mine some rosy cheeks

I'm going to make a rock belly, so I'm using a brown fabric circle

I then drew a swirl on it

And then you could glue or tape it on (Sorry for the blurryness)

I'm going to use puffballs for hair

You would then glue them on

Then you could glue on a bow, this is a boy rock so I'm not gluing it on

Next, get a container or box and tape or glue or drape towels or blankets over it

I added accessories and beds and stuff

Don't forget food and water!

I also made a bean bag out of a giant puff ball
