Preparation: rotate the hips and shoulders to place the side of the body towards the net. Bring the racquet back to shoulder level while gripping it with both hands.

Contact: swing upward to meet the ball, bringing the racquet just forward to the lead foot. Transfer your weight from the back foot to the front.

Follow Through: swing upward across the body, ending above shoulder level. Rotate the hips and shoulders fully, positioning the front of the body towards the net.
